Interactive graph dashboard

Case study - concept project
The problem

Why interactive graphs?

Reports, including annual and sustainability reports put their most important numbers in tables few people can read and digest easily. A donut chart can give you a visual breakdown, but on a printed page all five parts compete at once. On screen, the reader chooses what to look at and the chart answers.

how it works

Intuitive design

Each button selects a category. The chart animates to that share and the matching explanation appears alongside. Every value sits in one data model, so next year's update means changing five numbers, not rebuilding the animation.

How it is built

Under the hood

The dashboard was designed and built in Rive, a tool for interactive graphics that run live in the browser rather than playing back as video.

‍Design and logic in one file. The tablet, ring, buttons and text all sit in a single Rive file, along with the state machine that decides what happens on each click. Nothing is rebuilt in code.

‍Sharp at any size, light to load. Everything is vector, so it stays crisp from phone to presentation screen. The whole file is [X] KB, smaller than a few seconds of video.

future Template

One build, any brand

Colour and fonts are controlled from a single global model. The same dashboard can carry a council's palette, a corporate brand, or a high-contrast version for low-vision readers, without needing to build the animation from scratch.
‍
The same file runs on websites and in native apps, including iOS, Android, Flutter and React Native, through Rive's free, open-source runtimes. Build it once for an annual report microsite, and it can go into a member app or an event kiosk without being redrawn.

Give your data something to do

We design and build interactive graphics for websites, apps, reports and event screens. Bring us the data, the product or the story, and we'll make it something people want to click.
